5. Sew around the edges of the mask, using a 1/4 inch seam allowance. Leave a 2 inch opening on one side.
6. Turn the mask right side out and press the seams.
7. Cut two pieces of elastic that are 12 inches long.
8. Thread the elastic through the casing on the side of the mask.
9. Tie the ends of the elastic together to secure the mask.

Tips

• You can use any type of fabric to make your mask, but cotton is a good choice because it is breathable and comfortable to wear.
• If you are using a fabric that is not stretchy, you may want to add a few pleats to the sides of the mask to make it more comfortable to wear.
