While in the past, Alex meets her father, Jerry Russo (David DeLuise),as a teenager. She learns that he was a popular and outgoing student, and that he was very different from the overprotective father she knows.
Alex also meets her mother, Theresa Russo (Maria Canals-Barrera),as a young woman. Theresa is a shy and insecure girl, and Alex realizes that she is very different from the confident and independent woman she knows.
As Alex spends more time in the past, she begins to realize that she actually likes her parents the way they are. She also learns that her parents' love for each other is what made her possible.
