The Cat Really Did That is the surprising true story of how a cat changed the course of history. The book tells the story of how a cat named Snowball saved the life of President Abraham Lincoln.

Snowball was a stray cat that lived in the White House during Lincoln's presidency. One night, Snowball jumped on Lincoln's bed and started to purr. Lincoln was soothed by the cat's purring that he fell asleep. Shortly after, a group of assassins entered Lincoln's bedroom. Snowball attacked the assassins, giving Lincoln time to escape.

The Assassination Attempt

On the night of April 14, 1865, a group of assassins entered the White House. The assassins' plan was to kill Lincoln, Vice President Andrew Johnson, and Secretary of State William Seward.
